Can I raid if I have kids or a busy schedule?

We're a guild for parents and professionals. Our two scheduled raid nights are our only organized commitments; anything outside them is optional and player-led. Raiders still need to attend consistently and arrive prepared. Social members who play in the same evening window are a great fit, even without raiding.

How does the bench work?

With 22 raiders for 20 spots, a couple of people sit each night. We rotate fairly and ask for volunteers first.

If you're benched, stay close and keep an eye on Discord. You might get called in. Benched raiders earn full Raider Rating credit, the same EP as the raid (first-kill bonuses included), and first dibs on the next open spot.

What are the minimum raider requirements?

Current requirements are maintained on our Raider requirements page: Level 60, assigned raid spec and talents, the current minimum item level (which may change), repaired gear with reasonable enchants, food, health and mana potions, class reagents, raid attunement or key if required, DBM or BigWigs, working Discord voice, and knowledge of each boss's mechanics and your role. Specific tier requirements can be TBA while the raid leader finalizes them.

How do you approach performance?

We review mechanics, assignments, gear, deaths, utility, and improvement—not just damage or healing totals. We value good behavior more than a small performance advantage. Feedback is part of progressing together.

How do I join?

For the raid team, use Sign up to raid; an officer will follow up through your preferred contact method to coordinate next steps.

Why is a parent-friendly guild 18+?

Because parents need a place to unwind, too. Being parent-friendly means understanding bedtime routines, family interruptions, and limited free time. It also means giving adults a place to relax with other adults—without taking on another parenting role.

You don't have to be a parent to join. You just have to be 18+ and comfortable playing with people whose families come first.

Who can invite me to the guild?

Any guild member can invite you. Join our Discord, post your character name in #guild-invites, and any member will invite you. Already in our Discord? Open #guild-invites. Or ask anyone in game; type /who House of Zug to see who’s online. Everyone who joins must agree to follow our Code of Conduct. The member inviting you is responsible for sharing it and making sure you know where to find it.

Who receives raid invites?

Scheduled raid invites go to Raiders. We aim for a roster of 22 to support two 10-player teams or one 20-player team, with a buffer for absences.

Raiders may rotate out for half or all of a raid. This is the tradeoff that helps us consistently field full groups and use everyone’s time efficiently.

If we’re still short, we may bring guests from the guild or wider WoW Forever community. Guests must meet current raiding requirements other than regular attendance and be available for the full raid.

Can I sign up if my class or role looks full?

Yes. We generally prioritize the player over the class, while keeping a workable team composition. Sign up and discuss the options with us. Raider promotion still depends on meeting the requirements and roster needs.

Can I change my main or raid role?

Yes—talk to an officer coordinating the Raid Team first so you can coordinate the change with the team.

What if I need a break from raiding?

Accepted Answer

Life happens, and stepping away is completely understandable. Let an officer know so we can plan around your absence. You’re still part of the guild, and we’ll be here when you get back. Returning to the raid roster depends on the team’s needs at that time.

What if I need to leave during a raid?

Raiders and guests are expected to stay for the full scheduled raid. If you know you’ll need to leave early, tell the raid team before invites so we can plan. Unexpected situations happen—just communicate as soon as you can.

What loot system do you use?

EPGP+ is run by our loot master, Daekano.

The "+" covers legendary and ultra-rare items, like Thunderfury. Those may be assigned by officer loot council so they land where they help the raid most.

Heads up: this plan assumes WoW Forever raids will allow master loot, which Blizzard hasn't confirmed yet. If it isn't available, our loot master will collect drops and trade them to the winner. We'll update this once raids launch.

We plan to track EPGP with the Guilded addon, built for WoW Forever.

What is EPGP?

Two numbers decide who gets loot. EP (Effort Points) are earned by showing up and doing the work. GP (Gear Points) are taken on when you receive an item.

Your priority is EP ÷ GP. When an item drops, everyone who wants it says so, and the highest priority wins. No dice, no favorites.

How do I earn EP?

You earn EP for every hour you raid with us. The first time the guild kills a boss, everyone there gets a bonus.

New raiders need a minimum amount of EP before they get full loot priority. It takes a few raids to get there, so nobody shows up for one night and walks off with the best item.

How does GP work?

Each item has a GP cost based on how valuable it is. Better items cost more. Everyone starts with a base amount of GP, so a single good night can't jump you past people who've been raiding for weeks.

What is decay?

Every Saturday, all EP and GP shrink by 10%.

Because decay is a percentage, the bigger your pile, the more it shrinks. Recent effort counts most, and nobody can sit on a giant pile of points.

Why EPGP instead of rolls or personal loot?

Rolls reward luck. A brand-new player can roll a 98 and walk off with the item you've wiped 30 times for.

EPGP rewards the raiders who show up week after week. Want a specific item? You can work your way to the top before it drops. Standings are public, so everyone can see exactly where they stand.

Why not loot council for everything?

Council relies on officer judgment, and that can feel political. EPGP is math anyone can check. We save council for the handful of items that can change the whole raid.
